DME Tamil Nadu usually starts Tamil Nadu MBBS Admission 2022 from November 2022. Admissions in Tamil Nadu MBBS would be done based on the cutoff of the candidates in their NEET exam. NEET is organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and is a national level entrance exam. It comprises 180 multiple choice questions. The exam is of 3 hours duration. The colleges would offer seats to 7400 candidates for MBBS and 2873 candidates for BDS.
The candidates would be allowed 49 medical and 29 dental colleges under 85% state quota seats and private colleges in the state. Based on the NEET 2022 result the merit list would be released by the colleges mentioning the all India rank roll number name and other important details of the candidate. According to the state merit rank, the candidates would be called by the 10 colleges for the final step of document verification followed by counselling.
MBBS is an undergraduate programme with a duration of 4 years and 6 months followed by a 1-year compulsory rotatory internship. This course is divided into 9 semesters in which students gain an overview of various MBBS subjects like Anatomy, Pediatrics, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathology, Anesthesiology, Community Medicine, Surgery and many more.

Tamil Nadu MBBS Admission 2022: Eligibility criteria
The basic criteria for getting admission in MBBS is determined by the authority. The following few lines cover the most important aspects that a candidate needs to keep in mind before getting himself or herself admitted in the colleges.

- Nationality: candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Domicile Candidate: The candidate must be a bonafide resident of TN.
- Candidates who have completed their class 6 to 12 education from the state are not required to submit the nativity certificate. However, they have to submit their parents birth certificate ration card SSLC/10/12 certificate or no graduate certificate if their parents are illiterate.
- Applications of other states living currently in Tamil Nadu are not considered of domicile status and must take admission in the open category.
- Domiciles of Tamil Nadu who have completed their partial education from class 6 to 12th in another state must submit the important documents of their parents as mentioned above. Permanent residence certificate will not be accepted as an alternative for the nativity certificate.
- Age limit: candidates must be 17 years old. The upper limit of age for NEET is 25 years for general category and 30 years for SC ST and OBC.
- Education: The candidate must have completed class 12th in the required subjects(PCB) with biotechnology and English as the main subjects from the state.
- Unreserved category must have at least 50% in PCB while SC ST and OBC students are required to obtain 40% in the required subjects.
