MBBS Course
Academic program keeping in the view of growing need for a health society and a disease free world, JISIMSAR has offered MBBS program with an initial intake of 150 students in MBBS programs in various streams of health education.
Rules, Regulations and Syllabus for First Professional MBBS Course:
- The period of study for the first Professional MBBS course will consist of two semesters, each of six months duration. The first semester will ordinarily commence in the month of April, and the second semester, in the month of October, The first Professional MBBS Examination will be held at December.
- There shall be two University examinations in a year-one regular and one supplementary first professional MBBS Examination. The regular First Professional Examination will be completed and the results published within mid-January of each year. Supplementary examinations shall not be conducted later than 90 days from the date of declaration of the results of the main examination, so that the learners who pass can join the main batch for progression and the remainder would appear for the examination in the subsequent year.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission in MBBS Course:
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board, council or university and must have passed in the subjects of physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in physics, chemistry, biology /biotechnology taken together. Candidates should have passed English as compulsory subject. For candidates belonging to SC/ST or OBC, the minimum qualifying marks is 45% in above three subjects taken together and for the candidates having lower limb disability as defined by NMC/MCI, the minimum qualifying score is 45% for above three subjects taken together. Prevailing NMC regulations shall apply at the time of admission.
Candidates must have qualified in NEET examination and obtained minimum score of 50th percentile in NEET 2023. However, for candidates belonging to SC/ST category the minimum qualifying score is 40th percentile and for the candidates having disability of lower limb as defined by NMC the minimum qualifying score is 45th percentile. However, the score mentioned is modified by the Government of India/ NMC, the revised qualifying score shall be applicable for respective categories.
Candidate shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the MBBS Course.
Candidates seeking admission in MBBS course for 2023-24 session have to apply for NEET examination directly to National Testing Agency or agent authorised by Government of India/NMC. For the purpose of admission, after qualifying the NEET examination the candidate must apply through WBMCC, Government of West Bengal or any other agency authorised by Government of West Bengal for that purpose.
No direct application for admission in MBBS course shall be entertained by college or the university.
